Weapon Update

Textured the dagger thinghy. Took about 9 hours to model and texture ...
The dagger is about 1000 triangles btw.

Remodeled hair geometry, fixed bump map, repainted hair texture, smoothed out color map for feet and upper body and made her a weapon/dagger type thinghy.

Finished

Well finished my 1st architectural project.
Took quite a while because of all kinds of different reasons, including the fact that I managed to pay my wow subscription a bit too early, which of course thrashed my schedule.

After a bit of editing in Photoshop it turned out quite nicely.
I'll start another architectural project asap and afterward get back to some low poly organics since I plan to apply for a job at a gaming studio.

Well thought it was about time to start some architectural modeling as well. Scene is build for beauty rendering and only the buildings/flat surfaces are optimized.
Cylindrical/Tubular Shapes, Lines and Props such as door handles and such will be smoothed.

Eye-Fi News

Eye-Fi has added popular websites including Flickr and Twitter to the list that users of its wi-fi memory cards can upload images to. Changes to the Eye-Fi Manager web application also allow the creation of RSS feeds. 'Direct-upload' options have also been expanded to include Apple's MobileMe and AdoramaPix. This follows the partnership the company has recently established with Lexar.

The deal will see Lexar sell a 2GB version of Eye-Fi's Wi-Fi connected SD cards that will be called Shoot-N-Sync. (In the US only, initially)

Mr Maeda has been with Canon Inc since 1974 and is currently the head of the entire camera division, covering both DSC and the EOS DSLR system.

The following interview has been edited for clarity and to remove the many areas we covered that are, for the time being, 'off the record'.

Let's start with DSC and the announcement of the G10. We're seeing a lot of pent-up demand for a better quality compact, perhaps with lower megapixels / bigger pixels or bigger sensors. What our readers want to know - and what we want to know - is this; is there any chance of Canon making high-end compacts that don't have more pixels, but have better pixels, to fill the big gap between DSC and DSLR?

"The G10 is the flagship product of the PowerShot line and we're concentrating on getting a good balance between megapixel count and picture quality, and this is the outcome; the G10. We believe the users benefit from being able to trim or crop their pictures, and also to produce large prints, and most of these benefits we aim to provide by increasing megapixels. We cannot provide details of future products, however the G10 could be developed in a range of directions, such as models offering more sensitive ISO or more speed. At the moment this is one solution we could provide."

Which leads on to our next question. What benefits can we expect to see from the use of CMOS sensors in compact cameras?

"We believe the main one is speed; the potential for faster frames per second and the development of new powerful features for movie modes."

medieval turkish/islamic fortress (WIP)

Well I've put aside my woman model for a while and started working on a nice workshop based on game levels ...
The theme is a medieval fortress which tends to be of Islamic/Turkish origins.

This is my work so far (1 week time). Still unfinished but looking totally awesome considering that this is my first work of such so far. Never modeled buildings or anything un-organic yet alone something at this scale.
(About 20.700 triangles/9700 faces in total)

Studio shoot ...

Studio shoot on December 14, 2007. (Camera - Ricoh Caplio GX)
Pictures were taken in a small studio and were further processed on my pc.
The only things edited were cropping, hue/saturation levels, contrast/brightness levels and color curves.
No other modifications were made what so ever.
